Hi, I’m Kansas
While most counselors would use this space to list their credentials, we believe people are simply looking for someone they can trust to help them through difficult times. Since this is about you, not me, I would like to instead take this opportunity to let you know who I work best with and let you decide if we would be a good fit.
Deciding to seek counseling can be an overwhelming process. The fact that you are exploring the counselor bios on this site tells me that you are already taking a step in the right direction to become a healthier, happier version of yourself. It is vital to connect with a counselor with whom you can feel comfortable enough to be yourself and openly share your struggles. Likewise, it is important to know that it is sometimes okay to not be okay. It is my belief that in those times, therapy can be the answer to restoring hope in your life.
People who find successful results with me are ones who understand that therapy is not a quick fix, but a process that involves hard work. It is important to have an open heart and mind, ready to dig in and work toward making changes in your life. As your counselor, I will guide you to a better understanding of your emotions relating to the obstacles you may be facing, but it is up to you to put the new skills you will learn to good use and implement the necessary changes to restore your joy and experience freedom.
Most of my work involves women and men who are struggling in their life, whether they’re dealing with troubled relationships or internal struggles such as anxiety, depression, anger, or low self-esteem. Married couples who are having difficulties with communication or recovering from affairs also find a lot of success with me when they come in willing to learn and make long-lasting changes.
I also work with teenagers who are having trouble in school or at home. Today’s teenagers are faced with many things that make it difficult to navigate through daily life. Obstacles such as: confusing and difficult relationships, the pressures of social media, and the stress of doing well in school often prevent teenagers from experiencing peace or joy in their lives. I will work with your child to overcome these roadblocks and motivate them to move forward with more confidence.
Although, I can’t guarantee a quick fix, let me tell you what I can guarantee from our time together. You will always be listened to without judgment, but with understanding and support. You will be provided with skills and strategies for coping with and overcoming whatever you may be facing. You will no longer be alone in your pain, as I will walk alongside you to find the best solution to your struggles.
