Certified Temperament Counselor
Ordained Minister of Pastoral Care
Most therapists take this opportunity to tell you all about themselves, their degrees and the modalities they use. At Revive Christian Counseling, we do things a little differently. We realize that this isn’t about us, it’s about you. So instead, I want to use this spot to let you know the people who find the most success in working with me. Getting up the nerve to even reach out for help is a hard enough step, and so I don’t want to waste your time if you and I won’t be a good fit together.
The people who find the most success with me are the ones who need support and encouragement along their journey. I don’t claim to have all the answers in life, but I know that if you’re willing to explore the things you’ve been struggling with, I’m confident that we’ll get you to a place where you feel more contentment and at peace in life.
Most of my work involves women who are struggling in their life, whether they’re dealing with poor relationships, trouble with friends, or struggling with anxiety, depression or low self-esteem. Married couples who are having a hard time in their relationship, whether it’s poor communication, constant arguing or recovering from affairs find a lot of success with me when they come in willing to learn and try something new with the goal of making long-lasting changes.
Finally, engaged couples who are looking to get started on the right foot in their relationship enjoy much success when working with me in pre-marital counseling. The divorce rate in our community is staggering, but with the right tools, proper planning, and a realistic understanding of what will come in your relationship, you too can have a successful marriage.
Here, we don’t claim to be perfect, and no amount of degrees or letters after our last names make us the world’s foremost expert on everything in your life that you’ll face. But we do know what we’re good at. And one of those things is providing hope, encouragement, and a path forward when you feel like there are no options left. In therapy, I can’t promise I can make your life perfect and make all your problems disappear – but I can promise that we’ll look at all the options and the situation you’re facing so you can make the best informed decision.
I’m not a “bobble head” therapist who just nods at you while you talk about all the things you’re dealing with. I’m also not a counselor who stares at you over your clipboard while writing a bunch of notes about you. That’s weird and uncomfortable. We’re not going to sit in sessions where all you do is chase your tail while I ask you, “How do you feel about that?” You’re looking for answers – not a bunch more questions that you can’t answer.
If you’ve made it this far, that means you probably care about the rest.
I hold certification as a Certified Temperament Counselor by the Sarasota Academy of Christian Counseling. I earned my degree from Western Kentucky University in 2012. Additionally, I’m seeking additional higher education, and when complete, will also hold board certification in Crisis and Abuse Therapy.
I serve as the Youth Pastor at Bethel Outreach Ministries, as well as volunteer with a women’s drug and alcohol rehab program. I’m passionate about seeing people set free from their bondage, and enjoy helping them begin healing. My dream is to help reduce the divorce rate in our community, particularly through premarital counseling. I often joke, “Marriage can suck, but it doesn’t have to.”
None of the Christian or pastoral titles I hold mean that I’m some religious or judgmental person ready to tell you how all the things you’ve done should make you feel ashamed. I’m sure the world has done plenty of that for you. Instead, I want you to find hope and encouragement on your journey.
